The Girl Scout slogan is “Do a good turn daily.”

The Girl Scout motto is “Be prepared.”

Information is information.

The original twitter message was completely nonpolitical. A female, only the fifth in American history has been appointed to the highest court in our nation. This affirmation supports a value system that young girls desperately need to know. Women in this nation can elevate themselves to great heights.

Doing good and being prepared is all about having the right priorities and thus charting a course to fulfill those priorities.

Be Prepared: Set high goals and make a plan to attain them.

Do a good turn: Create a future that promotes good to others by being an example in every turn.

Do as I say not what I do…

Children are very observant. Lessons learned while observing the actions of adults have a substantial impact. Assuming the officials who run the Girl Scouts Twitter account are adults, the original tweet projected a very positive message.

The idea that people can even entertain interpreting anything extra in the original information, and consider removing that tweet, is very unfortunate, especially when it is exposed to young children. Politics have no place in the Girl Scouts.

Enough said!
